Over 100 Community Leaders, Educators, Small Business Owners, Environmentalists, Working Families, and Valley Residents Across the District Unite in Broad-Based Coalition Supporting Rodriguez’s Campaign
San Fernando Valley, CA – Former Los Angeles Public Works Commissioner, non-profit director, longtime community leader, lifelong Valley resident and mom, Monica Rodriguez formally launched her campaign for the Los Angeles City Council’s 7th Council District, representing the communities of Sunland-Tujunga, Sylmar, Pacoima, North Hills, La Tuna Canyon, Shadow Hills, and Mission Hills and released the following official statement:
“Our community has fallen short of achieving its full potential. Today, I am humbled and proud to announce that I am running for City Council to provide the leadership that puts our families and neighborhoods first.
“This is community where I grew up, attended local schools, where my husband and I met and started our family. It’s where I learned the values of hard-work, tenacity, personal sacrifice and giving back to your community.”
“I will continue to be a fierce advocate for our communities, just as I have in the past, bringing new energy, innovative solutions, and experienced, local leadership to make all of our neighborhoods vibrant and safe, block by block.”
“I am grateful for the outpouring of early support for this campaign. In the weeks and months ahead, I look forward to sharing my qualifications and vision for bringing about positive change for our district and engaging in a spirited campaign, focused on the issues that matter most to our residents and communities.”
Monica Rodriguez has already assembled a top-notch campaign team with a long record of winning local campaigns in the San Fernando Valley and the City of Los Angeles.
