San Fernando Valley, CA – Today, Monica Rodriguez’s campaign announced four grassroots and progressive local Democratic Club endorsements that have come on board officially supporting her campaign for Los Angeles City Council.
The latest Democratic Party endorsements for Monica Rodriguez’s campaign include:
- Stonewall Democratic Club
- New Frontier Democratic Club
- Proactive Democrats of the San Fernando Valley
- San Fernando Valley Young Democrats
“In the aftermath of November’s election we have seen our Democracy and our fundamental American values threatened to the core. I am thankful that our local progressive Democrats are standing up and taking actions to protect women’s rights, immigrants, and equality for all people,” said Monica Rodriguez. “I very much appreciate this strong support from progressive grassroots leaders and advocates in our community, and look forward to partnering with so many to fight to protect equality for all Angelenos.”
Monica Rodriguez was honored as the 2016 Democrat of the Year in the 39th Assembly District, and was the top vote-getter among all candidates for City Council, winning a majority of support in the Los Angeles County Democratic Party endorsement process.
Rodriguez is building a broad-based, bipartisan grassroots coalition has united in support for her campaign for City Council. Hundreds of local community leaders, educators, small business owners, environmentalists, and working families in the Northeast San Fernando Valley are supporting her campaign. She also won the endorsements of the United Firefighters Association of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Police Protective League, Los Angeles School Police Officers Association, Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, SEIU-USWW, Laborers Local 300, Teamsters Joint Council 42, as well as endorsements from both Democrats and Republicans, including Mayor Eric Garcetti and former Mayor Richard Riordan, Councilmember Mitch Englander, and progressive Democrats Supervisor Sheila Kuehl and Councilmember Nury Martinez.
Monica Rodriguez is running for the Los Angeles City Council District 7, serving Sylmar, Pacoima, North Hills, La Tuna Canyon, Shadow Hills, Sunland-Tujunga, and Mission Hills.
